Community Communication In - CCP:
Developed in partnership with the United Way Greater Toronto, the Communication Coordination Plan (CCP) ensures coordination and communication with more than 350 community-based organizations. The new partnership model implements service coordination and hyper-local solutions to meet the needs of Toronto's equity-deserving communities.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Communication Lead is responsible for supporting Community Coordination Plan Cluster tables operated in collaboration with the City of Toronto and the United Way of Greater Toronto (UWGT). The lead must ensure strategic communication across Community Coordination Plan Clusters through tailored communication plans for each of the 5 Clusters aiming to achieve consistent monthly meeting supports and Cluster updates:

Support 5 Community Coordination Plan Clusters with communication flow between Cluster Coordinators, Cluster partners, and other relevant stakeholders

Utilize administrative and technical skills, including meeting notetaking, editing and dissemination across the cluster using the required tools
Highlights of Your Role

Collaborate closely with the City of Toronto and UWGT Cluster Coordinators to implement tailored communication strategies that align with community needs, specifically for the Clusters they are assigned to.

Review and follow the provided CCP Clusters Community Lead Universal Monthly Planner, noting and scheduling meeting and e-blast frequency by Cluster to ensure timely completion of required duties.

Actively working with and/or assisting with content-related tasks across Clusters, including Cluster-relevant information for inclusion in the e-blast, creating, and submitting draft for Cluster Coordinator's review and distributing finalized version of the e-blasts to partners using the established e-blast template.

Share approved e-blast on their designated due dates.

Attend and participate in the scheduled bi-weekly check-ins with Cluster Coordinators for each of the five clusters; the schedule will be determined by the Cluster coordinators.

Attend the assigned Clusters' monthly meetings, take notes using the established meeting note template, document action items and ensure they are shared with Cluster partners within the due date provided by the Cluster coordinators.

Collating relevant resources and information received from partners for sharing with the Cluster.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:

Completion of Communications, Marketing, Administrative Assistant diploma or combination of lived and work experience.
Experience:
-
Experience as a communication lead for the CCP and/or other community development engagement initiatives is an asset.

Experience with the development and distribution of web and print communications.
-
Demonstrate experience and understanding of digital tools.
-
Experience supporting Indigenous, Black, or other equity-deserving communities.
-
Knowledge of current community issues is an asset.

Operating using an Anti-Black Racism and Reconciliation lens.
Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional notetaking, proofreading and editing skills.

Demonstrated skills in MS Office (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Compensation:

$29.33 an hour plus benefits
Work hours:

10-35 hours per week: 2 - 5 days a week

This position requires some flexibility in scheduling

July, August and December are slow months with no Cluster meetings
