About the Role

We're looking for an authentic, trend-savvy content creator who can produce engaging short-form content that genuinely resonates with Gen Z audiences, particularly within the Iranian digital landscape. This role requires someone who understands the nuances of creating relatable, data-driven content across multiple social media platforms while navigating the unique challenges of the Iranian social media environment.

We're looking for someone who is an effective written and visual communicator, creative, tech-savvy, and detail-oriented with excellent information management abilities. Experience running and managing successful projects on Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube is a plus.

We want a passionate, self-driven, and positive individual who can work independently while thriving as part of our collaborative team. Most importantly, we're seeking someone who believes in tech for social good and is genuinely passionate about helping people access information online and protect themselves against information manipulation.

Responsibilities

  • Create authentic, short-form video content that connects with Gen Z audiences
  • Develop content strategies across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube platforms
  • Transform fact-checking content into engaging, relatable social media posts
  • Build and nurture online communities around our content
  • Stay current with rapidly evolving social media trends and platform changes
  • Use AI tools to enhance content creation and engagement
  • Analyze performance data to optimize content strategy and campaign effectiveness
  • Navigate content creation within the context of Iranian internet restrictions and cultural nuances

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Authenticity over perfection: You create genuine, raw, and relatable content that feels real rather than overly polished or scripted
  • Multi-platform expertise: Strong experience with Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, understanding each platform's unique formats and audiences
  • Gen Z fluency: Deep understanding of Gen Z daily lives, humour, frustrations, hopes, and the social/political challenges they face
  • Short-form video mastery: Proven ability to create engaging content in fast-paced, highly visual, text-on-screen formats
  • AI-savvy: Knowledge of AI tools for content creation and audience engagement
  • Community builder: Experience fostering engagement and building communities around content topics
  • Data-driven: Analytical mindset with experience measuring content impact and adjusting strategies based on performance metrics

Iranian Social Media Expertise:

  • Understanding of the Iranian social media landscape and user behaviours
  • Knowledge of censorship challenges and internet access limitations
  • Experience with VPN usage and digital workarounds
  • Familiarity with Iranian Gen Z humour, memes, and cultural references
  • Awareness of the political and social context affecting content creation in Iran

Trial project: Selected candidates will complete a paid pilot project creating a video based on one of our fact-checks
