Timcon Construction is a locally owned, mid-sized General Contracting firm that has been building quality projects in the Red Deer area for 54 years. This is due to the quality of people who work for and manage Timcon. Many of our employees have been with Timcon 10 years and some for 20 to 30+ years.
We are currently seeking an individual that will compliment our staffing in the role of Office Administrative Assistant.
Skills and Requirements
As an Office Administrative Assistant you will assist with greeting visitors, answering a multiline telephone system, process Accounts Payable, perform various clerical tasks, and assist the Cost Controller with Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Month End Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties: Greet and welcome visitors, provide basic information and direct them to the appropriate staff. Answer, Screen and direct incoming calls, take messages, and manage email inquiries. Perform various clerical tasks like filing, photocopying and document preparation.
- Accounts Payable: Record invoices, match up invoices to statements, process payments, retrieve, record and file.
- Mail and Deliveries: Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages, and prepare outgoing mail and shipments.
- Supply Management: Monitor office supply inventory and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Secondary Schooling preferred in accounting or finance is typically required.
- Accounting Software: Proficiency in Sage, Quickbooks or similar accounting software.
- Communication: Ability to exchange information efficiently person to person and as well as sending or receiving information via email or telephone.
- Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills; experience with cloud-based systems is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture is essential.
- Self-starter with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Not afraid to speak up, ask tough questions, and push for better outcomes.
- Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities and handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction project lifecycles and costs is beneficial but not necessary.
- Possess a valid class 5 Alberta driver's license.
