Remote - Canada: This role has the opportunity to be fully remote. If you are the successful candidate and reside in the Lower Mainland, BC, it is a hybrid position that would occasionally require some in-office attendance, subject to the needs of the business.

What You'll Do
In this role on our Creative team, you will contribute significantly to our digital storytelling. This role requires the crafting of compelling content and copy for our clients' YouTube Kids and social media channels. It also involves contributing to creative concepts and ideation to engage and excite customers with a focus on kids aged 5-8, along with our team, often under tight deadlines.
The YouTube Kids Content Writer is responsible for conceptualizing, ideating, pitching, and executing creative concepts that grab the attention of young viewers. Leveraging research and insights is crucial to ensure the concept aligns with the project's strategy and objectives. The role works closely with a cross-functional team including a Content Lead, Project Manager, Strategist, and Visual Designer to collaborate to produce weekly videos for the YouTube Kids platform.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research on client industries, target audience, competitive landscape, and cultural trends to inform the development of insightful and unique concepts and copy.
- Conceptualize, draft, and refine creative ideas into compelling scripts and content for weekly long-form videos designed to keep kids engaged for 3-8 minutes as well as short-form videos that distill these narratives into concise experiences.
- Create and ideate engaging content for social media platforms.
- Collaborate with the creative team to provide copywriting support for other projects as needed across websites, paid media, digital advertising, and other social platforms.
- Developing captivating stories that match the tone and voice that resonate with our target audience.
- Utilize collected research and insights to craft copy and concepts that strongly resonate with the target audience and adhere to the project's strategic objectives.
- Work closely with creative and operations teams to create cohesive and impactful visual-textual narratives, integrating copy with visuals seamlessly.
- Constantly refine and edit content based on feedback, ensuring the final copy is compelling, clear, and error-free.
- Actively stay updated on industry trends, emerging platforms, and new formats to ensure our content is innovative and relevant.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative meetings, contributing unique ideas and constructive feedback.
Skills and proficiencies
- Proven ability to create stories with provided assets, in collaboration with influencers, or for live-action productions.
- Proven storytelling experience through content writing, video production, or screen writing.
- Expertise in writing compelling and original stories that resonate with a youth audience.
- Proven ability to conceptualize and develop innovative and creative ideas in collaboration with a team.
- Exceptional writing skills with a deep understanding of narrative structure.
- Thorough understanding of the nuances of brand voice and ability to adapt writing style according to different brand guidelines.
- Proficiency in SEO principles and ability to write SEO-optimized copy, within a YouTube channel strategy a particular asset.
- Exceptional written communication, presentation skills, and interpersonal abilities.
- Comfortable presenting ideas internally and to client stakeholders, with the ability to articulate and sell creative concepts.
- Strong skills in editing and proofreading, ensuring high quality and error-free content.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills, with proven experience working under tight deadlines.
- Creative thinker with a strong understanding of current trends in digital and social media.
- Knowledge of basic design principles and ability to collaborate effectively with design teams.
- Familiarity with market research techniques and audience analytics tools.
- Understanding children's developmental stages, interests, and preferences is an asset.

Successful candidates will have experience in managing sensitive information, underscored by a clear understanding of and adherence to confidentiality and data protection principles.
Salary Range
Our pay range is $85,000 - $95,000 CAD at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as market location, job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience.
