THE OPPORTUNITY

Secret City Records is looking to hire a full-time Marketing Coordinator to support and contribute to the multiple album campaigns throughout the calendar year. The Marketing Coordinator supports directly the Marketing Manager and Social Media Manager and executes various tasks for album campaigns. The Marketing Coordinator's role is to assist in planning and executing marketing campaigns for releases, tours, events and more. The role also provides clear and consistent communication as well as facilitates the flow of information related to projects. Tasks under this role includes – but are not limited too – coordination of timeline and deliverables, coordination of media requests, content creation, video editing, graphic design, administration, coordinating visuals, manage promo schedules, advertising booking, promotional production, social media calendars, newsletters, marketing blasts, retail initiatives and more. This position is based out of the company’s Montreal, QC office in the Marketing department and reports to the General Manager.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Past experience in a similar role is ideal, as well as a basic understanding of the music industry and the ability to engage with and learn about our artists and the campaigns we are working on. The Marketing Coordinator is an ambitious, highly organized, highly performing individual who likes to get things done. The Marketing Coordinator has a skillset based in coordination, planning, organizing, executing with a creative side that includes competencies in video editing and graphic design. The role understands that each task is important for the overall success of a record. A detail-oriented person with an impeccable and thorough review process. An organized multi-tasker who knows how to prioritize a full workload. An effective collaborator working within teams operating in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must appreciate the artists and music that Secret City releases and be invested in the mission to develop careers over the long-term through dedication, hard work, and commitment.
  • 1+ year music industry experience preferred.
  • Exhibits passion and a desire to learn about the music industry and the artists we work for.
  • Geniune appreciation and interest in the independent sector.
  • Aptness to coordinate multiple projects at a time and prioritize workload to ensure that project timelines are met.
  • Capability to coordinate the schedules/timelines for any given project with multiple business partners.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a strong ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Energetic, positive, proactive, and looking to thrive in a small business environment.
  • Resilient and works well under deadline pressure.
  • Enjoys working as a team player and preference for collaboration on projects.
  • Bilingual (EN/FR) with excellent oral and written communication skills is preferred.
  • Video editing and graphic design skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and capcut are essential.
  • Knowledge of social media trends and understanding of UGC are essential.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft environment (SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word) is preferred.
  • Arts and/or Business education University level preferred.
  • Based in Montreal.
